Thanksgiving Point

The girls had a couple of days off school this week so we went and hung out with Angie, Madi, Demetri & Sophia yesterday.
We went to Thanksgiving Point and walked around the beautiful gardens they have. It was amazing Fall weather this weekend so we enjoyed a nice time just being together and checking out all the beautiful Fall colors. We also stopped for ice cream - can't miss that.

Our Aspen is a glasses wearing gal

So our Aspen has glasses. Doesn't she look adoreable! We went in for an eye exam last Friday and after an eye exam they found she's near-sided. I have "mom guilt" for not getting her in sooner when she told me she had a hard time seeing the board at school! She was so cute when she picked up her glasses yesterday. She put her glasses on and I just thought she looked so cute and grown up. She was just thrilled for all the stuff she couldn't see clearly far away. She just loved it and I am happy because it's hard to decide which pair of glasses to get, but with all the cute styles out there now there she picked a pair that looks great!

McKell's Fieldtrip

McKell's 3rd grade class went on a field trip and I was able to go to keep 6 kids from getting lost! We went to 3 differerent museums which is an amazing thing to do with that many kids, but we did it and I think they had a great time. We started at a small dinosaur museum at BYU, then went to a really nice park where they gave us like 10 minutes to get our lunches, eat and quickly get back on the bus. We then went to a planetarium and watched a movie where one of the kids I was watching went into a dead sleep. I knew there was NO way I could even carry him because he's a big kid, so I let him sleep as long as I could then woke him so we could head off to another museum. We then went to a museum that talked about native american ruins and dolls and the kids were able to play with clay and make a small pot. That seemed to be the best part for all of them except that same kid fell dead asleep again right during the pot making! I can't believe I didn't get a photo of it because it was completely amazing the kid slept through all the noise! We woke him up again where we quickly got on the bus again and he proceeded to fall asleep until we got back to the school. I had such a fun day with McKell, she's a fun kid! The photo of her destroyed clay "pot" was a classic because she was so careful to make it and bring it back to school on the bus only to set it on the ground and her foot slipped and squished it! She's a funny kid!

Aspen in Jr. High!!

I realized when I was writing about school - I didn't get a photo of Aspen's 1st day of Jr. High!! It was a crazy morning because she has to be to school 1 1/2 hours earlier than last year and technically it was still summer and I wasn't thrilled for the girls be starting in the middle of August!! So here is our Aspen in a cute fishing shot a week before. This is the sweetest little girl and she has such a caring heart. Most people think she's shy, maybe at first, but you get to know her and she's funny, happy and just a good kid. She's grown up right before out eyes and we can't believe she's in Jr. High already, but she's doing great and we are so proud of her!! It seems her favorite classes are English and CTE - which is like child development back in the day. She also decided to try out the violin in orchestra and it's been fun listening to her learn that instrument - we LOVE squeaky music :) Good luck this year sis...we know you will do great!!

McKell's 1st Day of School

McKell is in 3rd grade this year and her teacher is Mr. Clark. This is the first time she's had a man for her teacher. She was a little nervous about having a man teacher, but really seems to enjoy having him as her teacher. We just found out she will only have him until the end of October when he is retiring! So we will have to report on the new teacher when that change happens. We sure love McKell she is the sweetest kid and very funny. She's quite a ham and loves to tease her sister, play jokes and just keeps us laughing with all her sillyness!! I love that's she's not too big to hug and kiss her parents, help out with whatever we need help with and really does love to spend time with her older sister! Kelly is a really great student, she loves to draw, read, and even likes math!! But probably her favorite is recess when she can play outside. Her new favorite thing to do is jump rope and she is learning how to double dutch. We sure love you sis - have a great year at school!

Brian's Birthday!!

So my sweetheart celebrated his birthday this past week! We had a mellow Saturday of cleaning, yard work, watched a couple of softball games and to top the day off with the best part...a BYU football game! The game was the part he was looking forward to all day and for BYU to beat #3 Oklahoma was the BEST! He yelled so much he lost his voice. We never thought they would play so well or even beat them - what a game! Happy Birthday Bri - we sure love you and appreciate all the wonderful things you do for us...your girls.

Fenway

Brian and I love going to pro baseball games when we visit different states - if the state has one :) Great thing about Boston - the Red Soxs!! So we were able to see them play the Yankees and the White Sox while we were out there. We couldn't believe we got into the Yankee's game...we didn't have tickets but were able to get them just a few minutes before the game started! The stadium is probably the oldest one in the US, we love how they still have a scoreboard they change the score by hand and of course the wonderful, wonderful ballpark food! In the 7th it's always fun to sing along to "Take me out to the ball game" and at Fenway they also sing "Sweet Caroline" in the 8th inning. So it was quite a memory and chance of a lifetime to see the Yankees play the Sox! We had so much fun!
